I can't seem to figure out how to calculate the required stair width. The code says:
Occupant Load: The occupant load for each exit shall be determined by dividing the total occupant load for an individual floor by the number of exits serving that floor.
Where stairways serve more than one level, the capacity of the exit components shall be based on the individual floor with the largest occupant load, provided that the exit capacity shall not decrease in the direction of means of egress travel.
Ground floor total occupant load is 360, total number of exits = 3, so occupant load for each exit is 360/3 = 120.
Second floor total occupant load is 180, total number of exits = 2, so occupant load for each exit is 180/2 = 90.
The code says to base the capacity on the individual floor with the largest occupant load, that would be 120, multiply by 0.3 inches is less than 44", so we should use 44" as the width of the stair, are my calculations correct, or am I missing something?
Thanks in advance for the help!

Ensure that there is no statement at the end that gives yet another width, such as:
"When areas of refuge are required, stairway width shall have a minimum clear width of 48 inches between handrails."
That would make your stair width 4'-8".
"When areas of refuge are required, stairway width shall have a minimum clear width of 48 inches between handrails."
That would make your stair width 4'-8".
4'-8" is the stair width, unless you have an occupancy load X .3 greater than 4'-8", then would go with the bigger number.
